Craft Show Prep

I've been meaning to do this for awhile, and now that I finally did I thought I'd share it with all of you crafters out there. I've probably got at least 50 craft shows under my belt at this point and finally made a comprehensive list of what to bring. Its in pdf format and has little checkboxes, room for you to fill in your own inventory/merchandise, etc. If I'm missing something major, email me and I'll update it. Enjoy!

Other than that, I have a show this Saturday at the Empty Bottle's Handmade Market from noon-4, for some last minute Valentine's Day shopping. The Empty Bottle starts serving at noon, so feel free to shop with mimosas in hand. (We do encourage relaxed shopping.) You can also grab brunch at the tasty Bite Café next door.

Markets include funky jewelry, glass pendants, knitted items, handbags, clothing, paper crafts and more.

Did you know that in the city there are many makers who create jewelry, clothing, scarves, handbags, journals, greeting cards, and more? Do you want your money to go directly to the people that make the things you buy? Here you can establish a personal connection, and our makers are even encouraged to demonstrate or make their products during the event.

Sustainable crafterness this is a regular monthly event. We strive to create a crafter's market, with affordable handmade, mostly local items. There are a ton of crafters in the city, and we try to make this accessible to up and coming designers, jewelry makers, and others. Come out and help support your monthly crafter's market.

Pillow Friends!

I got a little crazy yesterday and turned a bunch of my designs in to mini-pillows. I am in love with soft things, and I love the idea of being to display art absolutely anywhere! Pillows are so light and can add so much to a boring book shelf, or lean next to your favorite plant. They'll be on etsy soon, and this batch is going to Renegade Handmade on Division.

New Store!

Hello everyone -
Just wanted to announce that some Megan Lee Designs t-shirts and tunics will now be available at Lenny & Me / Three Bird Gallery on Milwaukee Ave. just north/west of the Jewel/Kmart shopping center. They have a huge selection of vintage clothing as well as a growing collection of locally handmade clothing and accessories. Some standouts are Pierogi Picnic's super cute recycled tops and dresses (one of which I'm wearing right now) and a large assortment of beautiful items featuring the drawings of Brett Manning. I couldn't resist this little plush pin, which is now on my purse. So, to make grocery shopping at the Jewel a little bit more palatable, stop in first to Lenny & Me and check out the goodness!

Just wanted to share a poster I've been working on for the event Smell the Glove: Guitar Hero World Tour Competition. Its associated with my book club Genre-X and the Oak Park Public Library – come rock out with us on February 6th!
