Thera-snakes...

I've been wanting to make therapeutic sock animals for a while now...and these guys do double duty. Basically, they are sock snakes filled with lavender-scented rice so you can heat them in the microwave for about a minute, and then wrap the snake around you wherever you have any aches, pains, or cramps. Its basically a much cuter heating pad that smells wonderful..and it can be re-used over and over. And, when you're not using it for its healing powers, it can be used as a draft snake in a windowsill or doorway, if you have really clean floors :)

I sold my first one at my last craft show and I had a very interesting conversation with an older lady about boll weevils...needless to say, she was worried the rice would have boll weevils infested in the them, but we both decided that if she microwaved the snake it would kill anything dormant in the rice. I never really knew about boll weevils...and apparently they are more common in cotton, but after googling it, they are creepy and noone should have them anywhere near there sock snake...so...microwave it just in case!
